Resurrection Power
Written by: Wes Plaisance

Easter Sunday is a time for Christians to celebrate.  Christ, our glorious Savior, can not be found as a rotted corpse in some grave, but was raised from the dead.  In fact, the bible testifies to His appearance to many people three days after His death and burial.  But the celebration just begins there.  When we received Christ by faith as our Savior we were united with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection.  You see our biggest problem was not that we have sinned, but that we were born sinners.  We were born spiritually dead to God, separated from His Life.  What if Jesus died only to cover our sins?  Would we not still just be sinners with our sins covered by the blood of Christ?  Jesus died for much more than to cover our sins, He did so that we might be made alive to God.  So when we received Him, he took that sinner (your spirit that was dead to God) and put it to death and buried it with Christ.  If we were buried with Him, then where must we be now?  We can no longer be found dead to God (sinners), but have been resurrected in Him in newness of life.  We are now new creatures alive to God who lives in and though us.  In fact, as we walk in this new Life we are living testimonies of Christ's resurrection power.

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature;
the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."
2 Corinthians  5:17
